Madison Wiegand (she/her) joined Legal Council as a staff attorney in the Homeless Outreach Project (HOP) in August 2023. Prior to joining the organization as a full-time attorney, Madison also contributed to our organization’s mission as a PILI Legal Intern on the AIDS Legal Council team. As an Equal Justice Works Fellow with Legal Aid Chicago's Housing Practice Group, she has demonstrated her commitment to aiding low-income tenants facing housing challenges like lead exposure. Madison's experience extends beyond her academic achievements. With a background in Political Science from Iowa State University and coursework at the University of Oregon, she brings a multifaceted perspective to her work. Madison's dedication to social causes is evident through her involvement in organizations like the Black Law Student Association, People’s Parity Project, and Women of Color Law Society as she received her Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law. In her free time, she indulges her interests in French, vegan cooking, soccer, and distance running.
