Amy Marinacci, Senior Social Security Specialist Attorney
Amy Marinacci joined Legal Council in 2021. Prior to joining Legal Council, Amy spent 15 years with Legal Aid Chicago (formerly Legal Assistance Foundation), first as a general staff attorney handling a variety of cases including public benefits such as SSI, SSDI Medicaid, and Food Stamps, as well as eviction defense, divorce and custody, civil orders of protection, and unemployment insurance. For the last ten years Amy specialized in Social Security cases where she represented hundreds of individuals before the Social Security Administration regarding both disability and non-disability eligibility issues at all levels of administrative review and in federal court, and supervised a team of Public Benefits casehandlers. She is an active member of the National SSI Advocates working group that meets regularly with senior Social Security Administration staff to advocate for policies that benefit SSI and SSDI applicants and claimants. Amy is a 2005 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law.
