Client Focus: Andrew

Andrew spent many years as Catholic priest before making the courageous decision to leave the priesthood and dedicate himself to the Black Lives Matter movement. This profound life change led him to a difficult period of homelessness, where he lived out of his car.

One morning, Andrew was sitting in his car checking email on his phone when two individuals walked by and looked in. When Andrew said hello, they falsely accused him of indecent conduct. The police were called, and he was charged with a misdemeanor.

Despite the unjust accusation, Andrew remained committed to his new path of service and social justice. Legal Council took on his case, advocating for his expungement. With the support of a character letters, we secured a favorable outcome, clearing Andrew’s record and allowing him to move forward, free from the burden of a wrongful charge.

This outcome highlights the impact of working together with dedication and mutual effort to achieve justice.
