Additionally, for her capstone project Stephanie worked with Commissioner Jesús Chuy García’s 7th District Health Task Force and Collaborative for Health Equity Cook County to host Chicago’s first conference centered on the intersection of immigration and health where medical and social service providers focused on both health and legal issues faced in caring for immigrant and marginalized groups. Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, she is particularly passionate about improving health literacy and health outcomes in communities of color through a social justice framework.
