Rebekah Kissel, AmeriCorps VISTA


Rebekah is an AmeriCorps VISTA serving with the Legal Council to support the medical-legal partnerships withing our Children & Families program. Originally from Chicago, Rebekah graduated from Carleton College in 2020 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Public Policy. Her responsibilities at Legal Council include supporting legal advocates, policymakers, providers, and communities in better understanding the social determinants of health, systemic barriers, and state and federal policy on children and families with chronic, disabling, and stigmatizing health conditions; data analysis on health policies; and weekly reporting on pandemic related legal news to medical partners. Rebekah’s previous work involved organizing around the social determinants of health in hospitals and clinics.
