Madi Norman, Homeless Advocacy Specialist
Madi is the 2020-2021 Avodah fellow supporting Legal Council’s homeless advocacy team. As Homeless Advocacy Specialist, she works to secure federal disability benefits for clients experiencing homelessness and living with severe mental illness. Before joining Legal Council, Madi worked with the municipal court team at Orleans Public Defenders and as an intern investigator for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Previously, she volunteered as a courtwatcher for federal bail reform efforts and as a debate coach inside Chicago’s youth detention center. Madi received her B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Chicago.
